Out of Hours Emergency Care

We have recently changed the way we provide emergency cover when the surgery is closed, by partnering with Vets Now, a dedicated provider of out of hours care for the pets of over a thousand practices across the UK.

IN THE EVENT OF EMERGENCY TELEPHONE THE NORMAL PRACTICE NUMBER, 01323 841666, AT ANY TIME OF THE DAY OR NIGHT

Either we will be there to answer your call, when one of our staff can organise an early appointment, give advice on first aid, or on how to safely transport your pet to the clinic, or you will hear a recorded message giving details of Vets Now’s emergency clinic in Eastbourne.

The team at Vets Now are always there when we are closed, so you can be assured that you and you pet will always have a vet and nurse on hand. By partnering with Vets Now to cover our out of hours emergencies it means our vets and nurses can get a good night’s rest during the week and at weekends, so that they are better able to provide the high quality care during the day that you would expect from Highcroft.

Please be aware that because of the nature of out of hours emergencies and the costs of providing such a service, charges are higher than during the normal working day.

The staff at Vets Now will always discuss theses charges with you before your appointment and before any treatment is undertaken. Remember to consider pet insurance so that you do not have to worry about cost when your pet needs urgent care.

If you do need to be seen, Vets Now will make sure any relevant information is emailed to us before we open again in the morning, allowing a seamless continuity of care when your pet returns to Highcroft for follow-up treatment.
